What was said
“…cleverly composed images, well conceived by the talented actress/writer Kay Adshead”
Michael Coveney, Financial Times
Kay was commissioned to write a play for Manchester and she has come up with an extraordinary state-of-the-city piece. Grace, played by Julie-Kate, is very rich and inherits Chadwick’s Fast Food Emporia, the fantastically successful chain of restaurants that serve traditional food such as pigeon pie, tripe, and pig’s trotters. It follows her spiritual journey. Much of it happens in her mind. The whole city is in chaos. Grace equals Manchester, and Manchester equals every city in the world. It’s about the chaos we are in and about starting again.
Director Sue Sutton Mayo (Manchester Evening News, 6 May 1993)
